Telecom Security Suite (TSS) is a software package that provides security for your computers when you are online. It uses award-winning McAfee technology so you can surf, shop, download, and email with peace of mind.
Telecom Security Suite helps stop viruses, block spyware, stop hackers, improves PC performance and secures your identity.
Before you download and install TSS, it is important to check that your computer meets the minimum requirements beforehand.
The initial download file is around 150MB and counts towards your monthly data or time allowance, so please check the online usage meter. The file can take up to 20 minutes to download on Broadband (depending on your connection speed) and may take more that 2 hours on a dial-up connection.

Telecom Security Suite works on computers running a Windows based operating system. For more details regarding system requirements, please see our main Telecom Security Suite page.
Before installing Telecom Security Suite, ensure that you remove any other Antivirus programs beforehand.
You can check this by going to Control Panel and Add / Remove Programs.
It is also recommended that you disable the Windows Firewall before proceeding.
The Telecom Security Centre will now be installed and its icon will appear in the System tray.
How often is my anti-virus software updated?
Regular updates occur up to every 4 hours when new viruses are detected by McAfee. On average the updates are 100 kb. Please remember that they will count towards your plan's monthly data or time allowance. See more information on the Telecom Security updates.
I have a new computer. Can I download the Telecom Security Suite again?

Is the Telecom Security Suite available on CD?
Sorry, no. So we know you are getting the most up to date version, it's only available online.
I am having problems removing my existing anti-virus or security software. Where can I get help?
If the standard method of uninstalling your existing security suite is unsuccessful, we recommend you visit the manufacturer's web site and search for an un-installation tool.

How do I tell which Telecom Security Suite (TSS) components I have installed?
Open the McAfee Security Center by double-clicking the M in the system tray. The four areas will be listed on the main page:
Each area will have the status: On, Current or Active. The Security Center is also a compulsory component - it is installed by default. If the McAfee installer detects a third party firewall, the TSS firewall may not be installed.
How can I enable/disable the Real-Time Scanning or Firewall?
While we don't recommend turning the Scanning or Firewall off for any length of time, it is sometimes necessary if you are trouble-shooting your internet connection or email issues. See how to Enable/Disable your Real-Time Scanning and Firewall.
Is there any way I can control the sensitivity of the Firewall?

How do I uninstall the Telecom Security Suite?
We highly recommend that you have some form of Antivirus protection on your computer. See how to uninstall TSS from your computer.
For help with an error received when trying to download and/or install Telecom Security Suite (TSS), try the solutions below:
|The user name and/or password are incorrect|
|We provide each of our Telecom customers with 5 free Telecom Security Suite licenses. This error is caused by already having 5 licenses in use.|
|Incompatible program detected|
|This is caused by a firewall application such as Zonealarm, Avast or Norton Personal Firewall already installed on your computer. Telecom Security Suite comes with a firewall built in so your options are to:
|Not enough free space available|

Telecom Security Suite keeps up to date by performing automatic updates. The Suite will check McAfee's server at regular intervals for updates to your virus protection, as long as you are connected to the internet.
Can I turn off automatic updates?
Yes, you can turn automatic updates off, but we strongly recommend you don't. If you want to change this setting (not recommended), follow the guide for configuring Automatic Updates. If your anti-virus software is not up to date, you will not have the full protection against the latest online threats.
Will downloading the updates for the TSS count towards my monthly data or time allowance?
Yes, as with all other Internet traffic, updates to the Telecom Security Suite will count towards your monthly data or time allowance.
